Every menu, every screen, documented.

For each screen we answer the same questions — what it is, why it exists, how to use it, who it is for, and what business problem it solves.

Background tasks

The scheduled jobs that send notifications, fetch email, run escalations and take backups.

What is it?

The scheduler screen showing every background job, when it last ran, whether it succeeded and how long it took — with the ability to run any job manually.

Why does it exist?

Much of what makes a helpdesk feel alive happens when nobody is looking. If the mail fetcher stops, tickets silently stop arriving, and you find out from an angry customer.

How does it work?

1 Check the last-run times after installation to confirm scheduling works.
2 Run a job manually to test it without waiting for the schedule.
3 Investigate any job showing a failure — the error is recorded beside it.
4 Confirm the backup job is green before you rely on it.

WHAT MANAGEMENT ACHIEVES
Silent failures become visible failures, which is the difference between a small problem and a lost week.

In practice

The mail fetcher fails after a password change. The screen shows red at 9am and the administrator fixes it before the queue notices.
