Email parser rules: routing mail before a human sees it
Rules that read the incoming message and decide where it belongs.
What you can match on
Sender address or domain, subject keywords, the address it was sent to, and body content. Combine conditions for precision.
Useful rules
Mail to billing@ → Billing department. Subject contains “URGENT” from a contracted company → high priority. Mail from your monitoring system → Technical, priority critical, assigned to the on-call group.
Filtering noise
Automated newsletters and out-of-office replies should be matched and discarded, not turned into tickets. Left unfiltered they inflate every volume report you produce.
